Dr. Michael Pennell, head of school, is honored to announce that Coach William Hill has accepted our invitation to serve as Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School's new Athletic Director.
Coach Hill joined the Bishop Reicher athletics staff in 2024 as a part-time coach and middle school P.E. teacher. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education, with a minor in coaching, and brings more than 20 years of experience across youth, select, high school, and minor league athletics. A proud Waco native, Coach Hill has been serving faithfully as Interim AD since July ‘25 with a deep respect for the office of AD and for Mike Shields, whose brief tenure at BLR was so impactful to all of us.
Over the last nine months as interim Athletic Director, Coach Hill has shown strong leadership and vision for our athletics program. He has already shaped our instructional program by onboarding Coach Andrea Gutierrez in elementary PE and several leadership roles together with Coach Jacob Meek as Assistant AD and middle school PE teacher, and coach. What a great team!
Coach Hill is a tireless and dedicated leader with a heart for our athletes and their success. He and his team have been aligning student skill development strategies from PE and intramurals in early grades to competitive athletics in high school. This work will continue to be guided by the athletic program’s eight strategic goals, [click HERE to read] to ensure a cohesive and mission-centered approach to developing physical fitness in all students and competitive excellence in all athletes.
Please join us in congratulating Coach Hill. We look forward to his leadership and to the fall 2026 season with great enthusiasm!
