Our teachers who teach religious education are certified by the Diocese of Austin to educate and guide our students in all areas of the Catholic faith.
Our Religion program includes activities for differentiated learning to include students of all abilities and backgrounds. Topics and themes taught in Religion class are applied across the curriculum to address students’ social, ethical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Students are given everyday opportunities to practice their faith connection within their families, school, church, and community.
All students participate in school-wide opening prayers at the beginning of each school day, school-wide closing prayers in the afternoons, as well as mid-morning prayer at noon.
Masses on Wednesdays are led by a different class each week. During the year, teachers involve all students in giving announcements, lecturing, leading responses, praying, and bringing up gifts. Our students become accustomed to public speaking, but most importantly, they learn life-long skills of being participatory members of the Church.
Retreats
Every year, each grade gets to go on their own retreat. Through dynamic talks, fun activities, small groups, and prayer, retreats are a time where the students can step away from the busyness of daily life and reconnect with the God who so dearly loves them. On retreats, the students build community with one another, and most importantly, the students personally encounter Jesus and have the opportunity to deepen their relationship with Him.
