Mrs. Svrcek has been teaching for 45 years and has a well-deserved reputation for being one of the best English teachers in the area. “I love the interaction with the students. I love their enthusiasm when they master a concept or get excited about a topic being discussed in class.” Even though she has been teaching for 45 years, she feels that no two days are ever exactly the same, and she continue to learn as much as the students do. In her spare time, Mrs. Svrcek enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her family. She also enjoys fishing on the coast. We a blessed to have Mrs. Svrceck as a member of our community. #BLRTeacherFeature #BishopReicherProud
Mrs. Ward has 18 years of classroom experience, and she is now our Learning Specialist. She has taught all subjects in grade PreK-3rd grade in addition to teaching Language Arts in Junior High for two years. Her greatest and most important vocation in life is that of wife and mother. She has been married to Bill Ward for 24 years, and they have three children, Jake is a sophomore at Sam Houston State University, Ellie is a senior at Bishop Reicher, and Tyler is a sophomore at Bishop Reicher. “I love being Catholic! I choose to work and send my children to Catholic school because I believe in the model, and I want my family to live their faith daily in any and all ways, hopefully, bringing others to Him.” The thing she loves most about her job is watching her students’ eyes light up when they are engaged. “Every student I have ever taught has a special place in my heart.” Mrs. Ward. We are incredibly blessed to have Mrs. Ward as our new Learning Specialist. #BLRTeacherFeature

Mrs. Zucha has her B.S. degree in Engineering Technology from the University of Houston and her M.A. degree from the University of Texas at Permian Basin. “I grew up an ‘Air Force Brat,’ moving all over with my family since my father was a career Air Force, enlisted man.” Mrs. Zucha loves learning new things, even when she is just Googling them. She passionately works every day at Bishop Reicher to learn more about being a better person, a better Christian, and a better Catholic. “Bishop Reicher is a place where you don’t just educate your mind, but you also educate your soul.” What does Mrs. Zucha love most about Bishop Reicher? “I love the people. I love the students the most.” And we love Mrs. Zucha. Oh, Mrs. Zucha is married to one of our favorite graduates – Scooter Zucha.
Mrs. Amber Kubacak teaches in our middle school and is also the cheerleading coach for the middle school. She received her B.S. degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Science with a minor in Communications. Before beginning her teaching career, Mrs. Kubacak was in property management and then health care management. She felt the calling to teach and knew that she wanted to teach in a Catholic school. Mrs. Kubacak and her husband, Christopher, have two daughters, Cadence and Audrey, who attend Bishop Reicher. “I love the fact that my girls are surrounded by their faith while in school.” Her favorite part of teaching at Bishop Reicher is “watching students find new ways of thinking, and learning more about themselves and the world around them.” Mrs. Kubacak loves to sew, quilt, work outside in her yard, and watch movies (Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Hallmark movies are just some of her favorites). We are genuinely blessed to have Mrs. Kubacak in the Bishop Reicher family.
Jenny Schornack is in the spotlight today. Mrs. Schornack received her BBA in marketing from Texas A&M University (Whoop!), is teacher certified in early childhood education through sixth grade and teaches second grade at Bishop Reicher. “My favorite parts of second grade are being honored to be part of my students’ faith formation when they receive two sacraments and planning and executing our Living Museum.” Mrs. Schornack is passionate about continuing to be a student herself. She has thoroughly enjoyed all of the training she has received over the last several months from the University of Dallas professors covering our new classical curriculum. “The training has been amazing. This philosophy/curriculum is outstanding. I wish my own children were younger to take advantage of this classical curriculum.” Mrs. Schornack and her husband (Michael) each come from a long line of Reicher Cougars, and we are very blessed to have her at our school.
Meet Alycia Frech, our Campus Minister. Ms. Frech received her BA in Communication from Texas A & M University in 2015 and her MA in Theology from The Augustine Institute in 2017. This is her second year at Bishop Reicher. Last year, Mrs. Frech established Bishop Reicher’s Leadership Program, and over the summer, she created our Leadership Honors Class, which she is teaching. “Bishop Reicher is a place that sets each student up for success because it is founded on the love of Jesus Christ. When each student knows they are loved by Christ, it enables them to face any personal, academic, or athletic challenge with confidence.” Ms. Frech is the perfect fit for Bishop Reicher because she is passionate about loving people and hearing their stories. It is not uncommon to see Ms. Frech with members of her leadership team connecting with students on the lower campus during lunch breaks. We are truly blessed to have Ms. Frech as part of our Bishop Reicher family.

Her family is grateful for the faith community at Bishop Louis Reicher, and we are blessed Mrs. Clapp is a member of our teaching family.
Meet Kathi Lancaster one of our fabulous Kindergarten teachers at the lower campus. Mrs. Lancaster has taught at Bishop Louis Reicher for the past 15 years and has two grown daughters, both graduates of St. Louis and Reicher. She loves spending time outdoors, bird and butterfly watching in her backyard, playing with her dog, and reading. Mrs. Lancaster's favorite place to go is Walt Disney World with her family! Her favorite drink is Diet Dr. Pepper. "In a world of trendy coffee drinks, I only drink Diet Dr. Pepper." What she loves about teaching at Bishop Louis Reicher are the students and their families. "I love teaching in a Catholic environment and would not want to teach anywhere else."
